The FEDESSA Conference and Trade Show is one of the biggest industry events for individuals and businesses operating in the self-storage sector.
The event is held annually, and this year it was held at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole on the 20th and 21st of September.
The event is aimed at both SSA UK and other self-storage trade association members within FEDESSA. The conference was a unique opportunity for us to get our fingers on the pulse of the industry – whether that’s finding out how the industry is evolving, meeting, and networking with other professionals, or simply letting people know how Store Log Flog is taking shape.
Highlights
The conference is the biggest self-store event outside of the United States and naturally this attracted some of the top names from the industry to speak and share their wisdom, some of the highlights included:
- Terry Bagley, Janus International – Automation in Self Storage
- Dave Davies, Double D Consulting – Setting Up & Expanding Your Container Store, and Top Tips for Operation in Self Storage
- Gabriella Zepf, Big Yellow – Making Self Storage Green & Profitable
- George Matts, Loc-Box Self Storage – Technology for Unmanned Container Stores
There was also the opportunity to pick the brains of the professionals running Specialist Groups for small audiences, such as:
- James John, Rooks Rider Solicitors & Rennie Schafer, FEDESSA & SSA UK – UK Legal
- Paul Whittaker & Anthony Adams, Young Storage Network – Selling to Millennials
- Christel Land, Clover 4 – Digital Marketing
- Maarten Streppel, USC – Container Operations
Our Experience
We had some fantastic conversations with self-storage owners, with both large and small businesses across Europe.
Store Log Flog’s Founder Dominic Willson had this to say, “One element which really interested the professionals we were talking to was the ability to message tenants directly from the app.”
Dominic continues, “We also found that even when we were trying to explain how the Store Log Flog app could benefit business owners, they were really far more interested in what benefits could be passed on to the tenants to add further quality to their service offering.”
Another big surprise for us at the event was the conversations we were having with self-store insurance providers, as Dominic explains “the insurance providers were very interested in how the app was able to offer a ‘total value’ of the items within a storage setting.”
“They recognised how important this feature could be to tenants and self-store companies, along with the insurance companies when they’re looking to assign policy values to storage containers.”
During our conversations with other delegates, we extended an exclusive offer to allow them to claim their free room in our app to see how Store Log Flog works for themselves. This offer is still available, so if you haven’t yet claimed your free room, then please do contact us today to get set up on the app.
The Store Log Flog app is now available to download for free from Google Play or the Apple Store.
